How it wears
The net is knitted rather than woven, so it gives in every direction and settles into the shape of your face. It drops over the crown like a hood, sits closest at the forehead and temples and hangs loosest under the chin. One size. The weave is open enough to see through clearly, and you can speak and drink in it. The stones sit at the knots of the net, about a centimetre apart, which is what gives the surface its repeating points of light.
How it reads
Against a bright room the black net draws as a clean line across the face. In low light the cord drops out of the picture and only the stones carry. Outdoors the drop finishes on the collarbone, roughly where a coat lapel begins, so the two meet instead of competing. Over a slip the net runs straight on into the lace and the join disappears.
